Why do people migrate? What defines a migration? How have the methods of and reasons for migrations changed in the past 300 years? Throughout the course of human history we have always been on the move. From the time we were first recognizable as homosapiens we have been constantly in motion, spreading over the face of the earth. What are the causes for these migrations? What motivates people to migrate and move their whole lives away from everything they have known to something new? In my cultural anthropology blog I will further discuss these questions and attempt to answer them.

This should be interesting, Personanlly I think it's fascinating how people settled the globe, but I think you're look on the more modern era migration will be pretty interesting too.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very a good and also interesting way to look at the idea of migration. It would be good to show all of the reasons for migration in the past, such as needs for more food, and even the migrations that have happened for religious regions in the past, and then it'll be very interesting to see the many reasons for people to be migrating to different parts of the world today, are they for the same reasons, or do the majority of these people have real reasoning at all? I am looking forward to reading your blogs as this semester goes on.
